After months of careful consideration and review, Ideal Technologies has decided to discontinue our web hosting services and replace these services with an optional web management service. This change will mean that clients currently hosted through Ideal Technologies services will be presented with options of web hosting providers which we have tested and recommend, and have the option of contracting Ideal Technologies to manage their new web hosting service.
We have made this decision mostly because the cost to profit ratio of providing our website clients with internal hosting is simply cost prohibitive. The annual costs associated with maintaining the infrastructure required for web hosting is quite large on its own. Couple this with our attempt to keep our prices competitive with the marketplace, the costs associated with maintaining the web hosting infrastructure, and the costs associated with responding to trouble tickets – the return on investment simply does not equal out.
After several months of testing and review, Ideal Technologies has partnered with 1&1 IONOS and they will be our recommended replacement for Ideal Technologies web hosting services. 1&1 IONOS has a ‘Great’ rating from TrustPilot, with an average 4/5 stars with over 10,000 published and verified reviews, scoring higher than GoDaddy (2/5 stars), HostGator (1.5/5 stars), BlueHost (1.5/5 stars) and many more. Additionally, the pricing and supported services of 1&1 IONOS is very competitive with other providers, and our internal tests of their hosting service have been most favorable.

Clients are not required to contract 1&1 IONOS hosting services to continue working with Ideal Technologies, they are simply our preferred and recommended hosting solutions provider. Clients are encouraged to review hosting providers of their own choice, and chose the one that they think will be the best fit for them. Our new web management service will be available to all clients, regardless of their choice in hosting provider.
Ideal Technologies will keep our web hosting services active and maintained until all currently hosted client’s contracts expire, however we will not be renewing any current hosting contracts. Clients will be contacted individually, before their contract renewal date, and provided with instructions for setting up their new service. As a thank you to all our clients for years of loyal patronage, we will be providing free website migration services to your chosen web hosting provider, regardless of whether they contract us for web management services.
